Today, we’re excited to announce the launch of Tabular Review—a powerful way for lawyers, legal teams, and other professionals to analyze large volumes of documents and transcripts. Whether you’re handling complex due diligence, reviewing discovery materials, or conducting detailed audits, Tabular Review provides a structured approach to quickly identify key data points, clauses, and potential issues.

Tabular Review builds on internal research from the Vecflow team on extending context windows for off-the-shelf models and combating traditional issues with RAG and information retrieval in high-value workflows.

In this post, we’ll walk through the main features of Tabular Review, demonstrate how it can transform high-stakes legal and business workflows, and show you how to generate final reports—such as due diligence summaries, discovery findings, or audit reports—directly from your review.

1. Why Tabular Review?

Eliminating Error for High-Stakes Work

Lawyers and legal teams often manage critical projects—like mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance reviews, discovery work, or major contract analyses—that involve massive collections of documents. A single misstep can lead to disaster:  Missing a “poison pill” clause or a critical statement in a deposition transcript can result in severe financial or reputational harm. Tabular Review is built to handle these high-value tasks, ensuring no crucial information is overlooked.

Streamlined Document Review

Tabular Review provides a centralized, easy-to-use interface for reviewing large document sets. You can define exactly what data or clauses you’re looking for (e.g., change-of-control provisions, termination rights, or red-flag statements in transcripts). Once documents are processed, Tabular Review automatically populates a grid with relevant excerpts and metadata, allowing you to see all key information at a glance.

Flexible Templates

Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach. Tabular Review uses templates you can customize for your specific use case—contract review, discovery, or transcript analysis.

Within each template, you can define the fields you want to capture, along with the response type:

  • Short Text (e.g., a short clause name)

  • Long Text (e.g., a full paragraph or excerpt)

  • Number (e.g., a monetary amount or date offset)

  • Boolean (e.g., yes/no for the presence of a certain clause)

  • Verbatim (e.g., direct quotes or critical wording that must remain unchanged)

Each template, executed by our proprietary agent orchestration framework, supports an unlimited number of columns.

Point-and-click execution

Our internal legal team has developed over 50 pre-built templates to streamline your legal workflows. These templates eliminate the need for complex AI configurations or prompt engineering, allowing lawyers to focus on their work without disruption. Simply select a template and the documents to process, click “run,” and let Tabular Review handle the review and analysis. This approach reduces manual steps, accelerates reviews, and enables seamless template sharing across teams and organizations for standardized workflows.

2. Use Cases for Tabular Review

  1. M&A Due Diligence: Quickly extract termination clauses, renewal terms, or change-of-control triggers from thousands of contracts. Lawyers can then zero in on high-risk items that might affect deal value.

  2. Discovery & Transcript Review: During litigation, attorneys often need to sift through vast amounts of deposition transcripts, witness statements, or internal communications. Tabular Review can highlight key admissions, inconsistencies, or sensitive content.

  3. Regulatory Audits: Ensure compliance by systematically reviewing policies, procedures, and contractual obligations. Automatically flag language that might indicate a breach or violation.

  4. Financial & Operational Reviews: Spot unusual terms in vendor agreements, licensing deals, or distribution contracts that could pose future risks.

3. Handling Complex Workflows

Reinventing RAG – Infinite Context Language Models

Traditional Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems often rely on embeddings for speed, but they can miss key details buried deep in extensive texts. For critical legal workflows, “good enough” retrieval simply isn’t acceptable. Tabular Review reinvents RAG by leveraging an infinite context approach, allowing our models to consider all relevant information rather than relying on lossy retrieval methods. This paradigm shift ensures that important clauses or statements never slip through the cracks, providing lawyers with the comprehensive insight they need for high-stakes decisions.

Accommodating Large-Scale Document Sets

Tabular Review is engineered to handle massive datasets—up to 50,000 files, each containing up to 20,000 pages. Thanks to our infinite context language model approach, no crucial language, clause, or snippet from a transcript is ever overlooked, even in the largest collections of legal documents. Our ability to support an unlimited number of columns further provides support in handling large scale tasks. We always aim for the highest possible accuracy, ensuring that every piece of content is thoroughly examined and precisely captured.

Agentic Workflows for Complex Analysis

Many legal tasks require multiple iterative steps—each step refining or expanding on previous findings. These agentic workflows deliver a higher degree of thoroughness, vital for complex cases and major transactions. Tabular Review integrates seamlessly with these iterative processes, providing a transparent record of how conclusions are reached. Lawyers can easily trace each insight back to the original documents or transcripts, fine-tune their approach as necessary, and maintain full confidence that no critical detail has been missed.

4. Generating Final Reports

One of the most powerful features of Tabular Review is its ability to produce polished reports once your review is complete. After structuring your data in a grid, you can instantly generate:

  • Due Diligence Reports: Summaries for investors or stakeholders, highlighting key risks and recommended actions.

  • Discovery Reports: Catalogs of relevant documents, transcripts, and critical statements, along with next steps for legal teams.

  • Audit Reports: Compliance-focused overviews that flag any deviations or policy violations, complete with direct references to the original text.

These reports are fully customizable, allowing you to tailor both format and level of detail to your specific audience—be it senior partners, clients, or internal teams.

5. Conclusion

Tabular Review for Vecflow transforms how lawyers and legal teams navigate complex document and transcript sets. By combining flexible templates, structured data extraction, and the ability to scale to thousands of pages, it tackles high-value work with unmatched precision. For those needing deeper certainty, Tabular Review also integrates seamlessly with advanced retrieval-augmented generation systems, enabling both rapid scans and more exhaustive analyses.

When millions of dollars or critical case outcomes are on the line, every clause or transcript snippet matters. With Tabular Review, you can confidently spot crucial details, generate detailed final reports, and make informed decisions—faster and more accurately than ever before.
